1427512 Embossing ROSS WARMAFOAM Ltd 27 Feb 1973 [28 Feb 1972] 9144/72 Addition to 1095290 Heading B6J An expanded polystyrene sheet is embossed by passage between a heated embossing roller, having a pattern of recesses formed in the surface thereof, and an unheated backing roller. The spacing between the rollers is less than the thickness of the unembossed sheet. The temperature of the embossing roller and the speed of advance of the sheet between the rollers is selected so that the surface of the sheet shrinks away from the embossing roller during passage of the sheet between the rollers except in the areas corresponding to the recesses.
