Abstract

1414762 Needled fibrous laminates VYSOKA SKOLA STROJNI A TEXTILNI 14 Jan 1974 01661/74 Heading B5N [Also in Division D1] Threads are applied to one face of a web to render it more coherent before or after the web is cross-laid and the reinforced web is needlepunched. The threads may be a loosely looped filament system which may be air laid by an array of air jets. The needled web may be autogeneously bonded by passing it through a double drum drying machine. In example 2 a loosely looped array of yarns twisted from equal proportions of cotton and polypropylene fibres is air laid on to a first corded cross-laid web comprising 50% waste polyamide fibres and 50% other waste fibres, a second corded cross-laid web is placed on the yarn array. A layer of wool/rayon blend warp yarns is also included in the assembly. The layers are needled together and then autogeneously bonded by passage through a double drum drier. The products may be used as a garment interlining, blanket insulating felt, drying felt or floor cover.
