Abstract

1405160 Hectographic coating compositions BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 15 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 52723/72 Heading C5W A flowable hectographic composition comprises a dye, a wax and/or oil, and 1-20% by wt. of an alkoxylated fatty acid alkanolamide. The dye may be a triarylmethane dyestuff, e.g. Crystal Violet, Methyl Violet, or Victoria Blue B, in an amount 30-60% by wt. of the composition. Waxes specified are carnauba, lanolin, Vaseline (Registered Trade Mark), paraffin, ozocerite, montan and beeswax, and the oils include petroleum, animal and vegetable oils, and olein. The preferred alkanolamide is a condensate of a higher fatty acid monoethanolamide with ethylene oxide. In examples the fatty acid is oleic, or tallow fatty acid (which comprises oleic, palmitic, stearic, myristic and linoleic acids).
