1484965 Alarm systems; selective signalling NOHMI BOSAI KOGYO CO Ltd 14 Oct 1975 [14 Oct 1974] 42082/75 Heading G4H In an alarm system, a plurality of signal lines L1-L4 pass through protected areas A1- A6 each containing an alarm device S, T arranged in response to the initiation D to apply pulsatory signals to the same predetermined number of lines (2 in Fig. 1) in a unique combination, the lines being connected to a central station C including means G1-G24 operative in response to the receipt of signals on any said combination of lines to provide alarm indications N1-N6 denotive of the area or areas in which an alarm has been initiated and not to respond to the receipt of signals on any number of signal lines other than the predetermined number. As described, a fire alarm has manually or automatically operated contacts D connected to a UJT relaxation oscillator S, which pulsewise earths a selected pair of lines L. Gates G1-G6 are enabled by signals on corresponding pairs of lines L, while gates G21-G24 are enabled if there are signals on any three lines; whenever a gate G21-G24 is enabled, the outputs of gates G1-G6 are blocked at gates G11-G16. The outputs of G11-G16 operate self-holding relays N1-N6. Fig. 4 illustrates the case of simultaneous alarms in A1 and A2 which gives rise to a spurious signal on L4, the resulting output from G4 being blocked by the output from G21.
