1441618 Intruder alarms; fire alarms SECURITY CONTROL ENG Ltd 1 May 1974 [4 May 1973] 21220/73 Heading G4N An alarm system suitable as intruder or fire alarms for guarding a building comprises a first warning device to be located inside and operable immediately upon tripping of the system, a second warning device to be located outside the building and operable after an interval determined by a delay device unless the system itself is rendered inoperative during that interval by a master control switch. The master control switch may be incorporated in a door lock or be operable by a key or by a secret combination. The sensing switches may be associated with doors, windows, &c. The system can be tested manually. The first and second warning devices may include acoustic devices such as a bell and/or visual devices such as a flashing light. The system may be arranged so that the first warning device ceases operation automatically once the second warning device becomes operational.
