Abstract
1482868 Fusible cut-outs H SCHURTER AG 25 Nov 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 48448/75 Heading H2G A fuse holder comprises a tubular sleeve 1 of insulating material and a cap 9 also of insulating material and insertable into sleeve 1 in which it is retainable by complementary bayonet elements 8 and 10 in the sleeve 1 and cap 9 respectively, the bayonet elements 8 and 10 being cylindrical in form and of substantially the same diameter. As shown, the element 10 has two projections which engage in corresponding recesses in element 8 when the cap is pushed from the disengaged position to a position flush with the sleeve end and rotated to effect locking, Fig. 2 (not shown). Elements 8 and 10 are formed of conducting material, element 8 being connected to a tab 3 extending through the sleeve wall and element 10 being integral with a cylindrical member 100 within the cap and containing a contact 101 in which an end of a fuse 11 is a push fit. In the locked position of the cap 9 the other end of fuse 11 engages an end contact 4. A tab 2 extends from the contact 4, the tabs 2 and 3 being suitable for soldering to a printed circuit board. A spring 12 in head 9 serves to press the fuse against contact 4. Element 8 is recessed in a slot in the sleeve the radial width of which is much less than the sleeve bore so that the fuse end cannot contact the element, whilst the distance between the edges of element 8 and the sleeve is greater than the length of element 10 and that portion of member 100 not within the cap so that elements 8 and 10 cannot engage until the exposed conducting material is within the sleeve. Cap 9 can be rotated for locking by means of a slot 14. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the bayonet elements are stamped out of a strip and only a single projection and corresponding recess are provided.
