1470793 Ventilating livestock houses INTREPRINDEREA DE STAT PENTRU CRESTEREA INDUSTRIALA A PORCILOR 18 Jan 1974 2574/74 Heading F4V A livestock house comprises an elongated fodder distribution zone, a fresh air inlet, an air distribution duct a, a blowing and conditioning device for blowing the fresh air at automatically adjusted temperature and moisture content into duet a, an air exhaust duct 7 and a fan for exhausting stale air through duct 7, wherein ducts a, 7 both extend along the length of the zone, the duct a has outlets adapted to direct air into the house at the level of fodder distribution along the whole length of the zone and duct 7 has inlets 8 adapted to receive air at said level along the whole length of the zone. In the form shown, the duct a is formed by a prefabricated steel reinforced element (1, Fig. 4 or 5) which also serves as a fodder trough, the outlets being at a height of 0À4 to 0À6 m. above the floor of the house and being defined by adjustable slots (c) or outlets (4) on the top of the element (1). The inlets 8 are adjustable and the duct 7 also communicates with a drainage channel d via channels 9. The fan is outside the house and may serve more than one house. The conditioning device may also be fed with recycled air. In another embodiment, the distribution duct is a steel reinforced concrete duct (13, Fig. 7) set into the floor or is a sheet metal duct (14) suspended 2À5 m. above metal food hoppers. The duct is connected to outlets (15) mounted within or attached to the hoppers.
