Abstract

1454162 Electrically driven cylinder lawn mower with insulation SUFFOLK LAWN MOWERS Ltd 29 Nov 1973 [11 Dec 1972] 57000/72 Heading A1F An electrically driven cylinder lawn mower has its cylinder and adjustable ledger blade mounted on side plates 10, 11, Fig. 3, of electrically insulating plastics. A motor 14, Fig. 1 is housed within a metal box 13 on metal cover plate 12 and drives the blades 15 via a rubber belt and plastics pulleys (18), 19 which are shrouded by metal cover plates 23 attached to the side plates 10, 11. The ledger blade 30 is welded to a sleeve rotatable around a tie rod 32 which extends between the side plates so that adjustment of tension mechanisms 38 changes the height of the ledger blade. The roller 55 and front wheels 47 are also height adjustable by changing the setting of lever plates 56 on the side plates 10, 11 and by changing the setting of guide plates 50 on front tie rod 46. Stability is increased by front weight 21. The mower handle 65 is formed in upper and lower pivoted parts for ease of storage and a grass box 86 has top flanges curled over the U-shaped lower end of the handle.
