Abstract
1440504 Rotary printing machines A BUGNONE 25 Oct 1973 [3 Nov 1972] 49816/73 Heading B6C In a web-fed printing machine comprising a main frame support carrying printing and impression cylinders further processing of the web, such as guiding, turning, additional printing, is effected in an auxiliary device which is mounted on an auxiliary frame readily releasably attachable to the main frame support. The auxiliary frame may be on wheels or hinged to the main frame. In the machine of Fig. 2 the main supports 1 carry printing and impression cylinders 2,3 and side brackets 4,5, rotatably supporting rollers 6, 7, 8, 18, 19 whilst wheeled auxiliary frames 20, 21 carry auxiliary devices in the form of rollers 9, 10, 11, 12. Frame 21 also carries rollers 19 whilst devices such as electronic reading heads 17 may be carried by both auxiliary frames. The web A is printed on face A<SP>11</SP> whilst passing around the rollers 6,9,10,11, 12, 8, 3, 7, 8. Should it be necessary to print on the opposite face A<SP>1</SP> the web is fed though the machine via rollers 6, 7, 3, 8 and 19.
