Abstract

1,057,340. Printing apparatus; inking apparatus. MARKEM MACHINE CO. Aug. 11, 1965 [Sept. 2, 1964], No. 34434/65. Heading B6C. In an inking apparatus comprising a fountain 11, fountain roller 15 and scraper 13, the latter is in the form of a rotatable rod driven through gearing from the fountain roller drive. The rod is housed in a recess 14 in the lower edge of the fountain 11 which is spring loaded away from the roller 13 and is slidably adjustable relative to the fountain roller by bolts 26. The fountain is slidably mounted on a carrier 20 which is similarly mounted in a frame 29, bolts 22 being provided for securing the carrier within the frame. Instead of being rotated through 360 degrees or more, the rod 13 may be oscillated about its longitudinal axis.
