Abstract

1332622 Building structures SUMASPACE Ltd 12 May 1972 22360/72 Heading E1W A building structure is formed of half portal frames 3 secured at their upper ends 2 to the periphery of a central roof panel 1 and embedded at their lower ends in the ground Each half portal frame is formed in prefabricated sections 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 fixed together by spigot and socket connections. The sections 14 forming the roof ribs are interconnected by stainless steel tensioning wires 6 which support plastics or glass reinforced concrete roofing sheets. Each of the prefabricated sections may be formed of glass reinforced concrete box beams which may be filled with normally reinforced concrete or they may be of steel. Windows or doors 30 may be provided in side infill panels and the frames may include drainage pipes.
