Abstract

1330697 Scaffolding tower; structural elements J LAFFARGUE J LAFFARGUE and M CAMBON 22 Dec 1970 [28 May 1970] 60936/70 Headings E1K and E1S Scaffolding is constructed from rigid frames 1 of right-angled, trapezium shape, each frame comprising two upright tubes 2, 3 connected together by a perpendicular bar 4 and an inclined bar 5, the uprights having at their ends complementary spigots 6, 7 and sockets 8, 9 in diagonal arrangement, as shown, for the connection of adjacent frames, with a set of frames arranged to define a rectangular or polygonal figure in plan at each level of the tower and alternate frames being inverted. The scaffolding may be reinforced by diagonal bracing bars, particularly at the top and base, each bracing bar 10 or 15 having at its ends tubular members 11, 12 or 16, 17 formed with spigots 13, 14 or sockets respectively for engagement with the sockets or spigots of the uprights 2, 3.
