Abstract
1,213,487. Scaffold towers. SOC. FRANCAISE DES ECHAFAUDAGES SELF-LOCK. 13 Dec., 1967 [15 Dec., 1966], No. 56612/67. Heading E1S. A scaffold tower comprises rectangular frames 1 of tubular members 6-8 with diagonal braces 9, which frames are interconnected by further diagonal members 2 with end sockets 13, and at the top and bottom by co-planar struts 4 and 5 with end sockets 17, 19, and by horizontal diagonal braces 3 with end sockets 15. The tower stands on adjustable supports 22 and carries adjustable saddles 30. The braces 9 may each be replaced by two more steeply angled braces 9a and 9b (Fig. 1, not shown) which together form an inverted V. The sockets 13 extend vertically between horizontal members 7 and 8 at each intermediate joint.
