Abstract

1312012 Electrostatic precipitators METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG 8 June 1971 [20 June 1970] 19511/71 Heading B2J The collector electrodes of an electrostatic precipitator are formed of strips 1 which have a symmetrical configuration, a substantially flat central portion 2 which is stiffened for example by ribs 3 and edge portions 4-6 shaped so that an air gap 7 is formed between adjacent strips with the flanges 6 overlapping to form a labyrinth seal. The strips are separately secured at their upper ends to a carrying structure and at their lower ends to a rapping rod. The edge portions 4-6 define low-flow dust receiving chambers through which collected dust can be discharged into bins.
