Abstract
1399987 Sliding clasp-fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 14 Sept 1973 [19 Sept 1972] 43356/73 Heading E2S A sliding clasp-fastener 10 having an entrance end 20, 20, and an exit end 18, and which comprises top and bottom wings 11, 12 respectively interconnected by a neck 13 at one end, a bail 14 projecting upwardly from said top wing 11, a pull tab 15 pivotally connected to said bail, and spaced side flanges 16, 16' integral with said top wing 11 and defining therebetween a substantially Y-shaped element guide channel 17, 17 is characterised in that the distance W between the flanges 19, 19', as measured from their outer peripheries at the exit end 18 is greater than the corresponding distance W' at the entrance end 20, 20 and in that said flanges are provided with tape guide rails having a width greater at the exit end, rendering the contour of the slider body substantially triangular. As shown in Fig 3, a slider 10 is mounted upside down on a slider holder 21 and two stringer tapes T, T' attached to a garment G, are manipulated, one after the other, through the entrance end 20 into the guide channel 17, the relative positons of the rows of fastener elements E being connected by pulling the tapes T, T' back again through the slider 10 in the fastener opening direction. The enlarged rails 19 prevent the coupling head portions Ea from rising above their normal line of engagement and becoming caught in the exit end as shown in Fig 4.
