Abstract
1353632 Single test reaction container WORTHINGTON BIOCHEMICAL CORP 6 May 1971 [6 May 1970] 21382/73 Heading G1B A disposable reaction container in a form suitable for insertion into e.g. a spectrophotometer and which may contain lyophilized test reagents for reconstitution by added water and test sample is made of rigid or semi-rigid material and comprises opposed major walls 11, 12 and means including connecting marginal walls securing the major walls together, the major walls having opposed spaced apart light transparent parallel windows 15, 16, a reaction chamber 17 at least partly defined by the major walls and at least one opening 21, 22 in a connecting wall and communicating with the reaction chamber for introduction of liquid and/ or an air jet for mixing the reaction chamber contents. The container may have an auxiliary chamber 18 (Fig. 3) in which may be located one of the test reagents, the auxiliary and reaction chambers communicating through a restricted passage 20 so that mixing occurs only when liquid is forced from one chamber to the other. Specification 1353631. The contents of the chambers may be incubated by heating aluminium foil 38, 38A disposed as shown or alternatively by passing a heat exchange fluid through chamber 35. The use of the reaction container for the determination of lactic dehydrogenase or creatine phosphokinase in blood serum is described.
