Abstract

1341768 Thiazole derivatives AGRIPAT SA 22 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29232/71 Heading C2C Novel 2-(aminoalkoxy)-4-phenylthiazoles of the formula acid addition salts thereof, and quaternary ammonium salts thereof having the formula wherein R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen or halogen atoms or (C 1 -C 5 ) alkyl radicals; R 3 is a hydrogen or halogen atom; R 4 is a hydrogen atom or a (C 1 -C 5 ) alkyl radical; R 4 <SP>1</SP>, R 5 and R 6 are (C 1 -C 5 ) alkyl radicals; A is a (C 2 -C 6 ) alkylene radical and X is an anion, are prepared by reacting a 4-phenylthiazole of the formula with a compound of the formula optionally in the presence of a condensation agent, or quaternating a compound of the formula with a compound of the formula wherein Z is a halogen atom or an alkoxysulphonyloxy or arylsulphonyloxy radical. The reactions are preferably carried out in the presence of a solvent or diluent at a temperature of from 0‹ to 150‹ C. The novel compounds possess plant-growth regulating properties.
