[Also in Divisions D1 and D2] In a method of knitting sleeved garments e.g. jumpers or cardigans, at least one body portion 4 and the two sleeve portions 1, 2 are separately knit adjacent one another on the. same machine. Once the armpit areas 16-19 have been reached courses are knit across all the portions in unison. The remaining body portion may be in two halves 3, 5, which may overlap in the finished garment, one portion integral with one sleeve portion, or a separately knitted portion. The garment portions may be knitted succesively from one yarn which extends from the last course of one portion to the first of the next before being cut. The body and arm margins are seamed.
