Abstract
1,230,497. Sawing. ETABS. DEMURGER & CIE. 29 April, 1969 [11 July, 1968], No. 21776/69. Heading B5L. A frame for a saw comprises a main element 1 parallel to the saw blade 4, two shorter branches 2, 3 extending from the ends of the element and between which the blade is secured, and a handle 5 extending in the extension of the blade, the main element being hollow and the branches being pivotable to the element and capable of being disposed in alignment with the element when the blade is removed so as to be slidable within the element. The element may be substantially rectangular with the lower side formed with slots 3<SP>1</SP> for receiving the branches 2, 3, the upper ends of which are formed with blocks 7. The blocks act as pivots whereby the branches can be aligned with the element when the blade is removed and extend through openings in the ends of the elements and then slid into the elements as shown in Fig. 6. In the operative position, the blade 4 is attached to the lower end of branch 2 and to a lug 13 on a bar 14 which extends through a pivot block 6 in the lower end of the branch 3 and is screw threaded into the handle 5, tightening of which tensions the blade.
