Abstract

1,223,996. Funnels. H. P. SMALLBONE. 26 Sept., 1968 [28 Sept., 1967], No. 44205/67. Heading B1X. A funnel, formed of flexible resilient material, has a mouthed portion 10 of stepped form having wall portions 12 and 13 suitable for engaging with cans of standard size and undercuts 14 and 15 arranged to receive the rims of the cans with a snap action, and a nozzle portion 11 inclined at an angle of 45‹ to the common axis of the two wall portions 12 and 13, and is provided with a cap 16 acting as a valve to control the flow of oil from the nozzle by means of one or more parts 17 in the nozzle which can be aligned, by turning the cap, with ports 18 in the cap. With the cap closed the funnel may be used as a measuring device, the dimensions of the funnel being chosen so that standard volumes of liquid fill the funnel up to the respective steps in the mouth portion.
