[Also in Division H2] A two-pole A.C. electromagnet system, particularly for an alarm, has a pair of permanent magnets 4, 5 mounted between the ends of the yoke arms 12, 13 respectively and a supporting bar 6 for the central pivot 7 of an armature 1 whereby in the symmetrical position of the armature shown, the flux circulates round the short path provided by the armature and its support. When forming part of an alarm, the armature carries the striker (18) thereof.
