Abstract
1,210,968. Medicaments containing diamino acid salt. FAR EASTERN DETAILERS Ltd. 9 Oct., 1968 [11 Oct., 1967], No. 47768/68. Heading A5B. Medicaments for the treatment of gastric ailments resulting from hyperchlorhydria or hypochlorhydria comprise a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a mixture of the mono- and di-hydrochlorides of at least one aliphatic diamino acid such as lysine, hydroxylysine, arginine and ornithine, the medicament acting as a buffer to keep the aqueous medium of the stomach adjusted to its physiologically normal pH value. The ratio by weight of lysine monoto di-hydrochloride may be 0.875:1 in a given dose. The medicaments may be administered orally in the form of tablets, capsules, cachets, dragees, powder or syrups.
