1,246,727. Compositions comprising picolinic acid derivatives. ZAIDAN HOJIN BISEIBUTSU KAGAKU KENKYU KAI. 10 Feb., 1969, No. 6997/69. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] A therapeutic composition, in unit dosage form, having hypotensive activity comprises 5-butylpicolinic acid or 5-pentyl-picolinic acid and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier, the active ingredient being present in an amount of 20-250 mg. per unit dose of the composition. The compositions may be in a form suitable for oral administration or in the form of a suppository. The picolinic acids may for example be present as the calcium salt or the hydrochloride.
