Abstract
1281317 Antiskid brake systems ALFRED TEVES GmbH 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 26304/71 Heading F2F In an antiskid control system for dualcircuit brakes the primary portion 2 of a master cylinder 1 is combined with a pressure regulating valve 3 which operates to throttle the circulation of a pump 5, which pumps hydraulic fluid around a circuit including a reservoir 7, and applies pressure fluid to the rear brake cylinders via valves 11, 12 controlled by wheel sensors 13, the front brakes receiving pressure fluid from a pressure chamber 9 containing a floating piston 8 also operated by the pressure of fluid from pump 5 the valves 11, 12 releasing the brakes, on receipt of a signal from a control unit 14 indicating imminent skid conditions, by interrupting the connection from a pressure chamber 6 to the rear wheel cylinders and after a delay connecting the cylinders to the reservoir 7. Valve 11 is operated at a first deceleration threshold V 1 and at a further threshold V 2 or after the running out of a time delay member t v which commences at receipt of v 1 valve 12 is operated to connect the cylinders to the reservoir 7. A time delay circuit t h keeps valve 12 operated until an acceleration signal b is received while valve 11 is released. The cycle may then be repeated. A by-pass 21 connects chambers 6 and 9 and contains a pressure difference indicator 22 which generates an alarm signal upon failure of one of the brake circuits. In a modification, Fig. 3, valves 11<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP> control the front brakes in similar manner. In the case of pump failure the secondary piston is moved by an extension 25 contacting the primary piston.
