1,265,656. Stabilizing P.V.C. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 28 April, 1969 [24 May, 1968], No. 24934/68. Heading C3P. [Also in Division C2] Polyvinylchloride compositions are stabilized by adding salts of alkyl, aralkyl or aryl tin groups with acid radicals of the formula NRR 1 R 2 , wherein R is a radical of the formula -(XO) n -CO-CH=CH-COO-, wherein X is an ethylene group optionally substituted by one or more alkyl or aryl groups, n is 1 to 20 and R 1 and R 2 are each radicals of the formula R or optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl groups, in amounts from 0À1 to 8À0% of the weight of vinyl chloride components in the polyvinyl chloride. An example describes the stabilization of polyvinyl chloride using the dibutyl tin salt of the bis-acid maleate of N- ethylethanolamine.
