Abstract

1,265,556. Winding apparatus. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 25 June, 1969 [27 June, 1968], No. 32041/69. Heading B8B. [Also in Division F2] A mine hoist comprises two drums 3-4 for winding a pair of skip cables in opposite directions, the drum 4 being fixed to a driving shaft 5 whereas the drum 3 is rotatably mounted thereon and connectible thereto through friction clutch units 22 which are manually engageable by spring forces and are disengageable by hydraulic piston and cylinder assemblies. The units 22 are mounted on a hub disc 20 secured to the shaft 5, and act to engage or release frictional contact between a pair of friction discs resiliently secured to the interior of the drum 3 and a friction disc secured to the hub 20 and positioned between the said pair of discs. When the angular relation between the drums 3, 4 is to be changed to facilitate skip operation between a different pair of levels, the drum 3 is braked by a unit 9 and the clutch units 22 are disengaged, after which a brake unit 10 on the drum 4 is disengaged so that the drum 4 may be rotated relative to the drum 3, the brake 10 and clutch 22 being re-engaged thereafter. The hoist may be provided with interlock devices which prevent the brake unit 9 and the clutch units 22 from being released simultaneously.
