Abstract
1,139,086. Pneumatic tyres. PIRELLI S.p.A. 24 March, 1966; [31 March, 1965], No. 12968/66. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre with carcass plies 5, 7 of parallel cords deviating not more than 10 degrees from radial planes includes additionally a bead reinforcing strip 12 lying axially inwardly of all other bead reinforcements and extending between to one fifth and one half the maximum height of tyre section and commencing not more than 20 mm. from the bead toe. The strip 12 may be formed as an extension of a chafer strip 9 (Fig. 2, not shown) or be constituted by the turn-up of the turned-under carcass ply 7 (Fig. 3, not shown).
