Abstract
1,114,337. Incandescent electric lamps. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. 1 Sept., 1966 [20 Sept., 1965], No. 39147/66. Heading H1F. In an incandescent lamp, a conical shaped insert 18 is disposed in each end of a coiled filament 16 and the legs 28 of the inserts are sealed into the envelope of the lamp. Each insert is preferably wound to the same number of turns per inch as the filament and increases in diameter from the inner end to the outer end which fits tightly within the filament coil. The invention is especially applicable to tubular lamps, spacers, e.g. of tungsten, being disposed at intervals along the length of the filament.
