Abstract

1,109,608. Packages. UNILEVER Ltd. 10 Oct., 1966 [11 Oct., 1965], No. 45156/66. Heading B8C. Containers 23, 24 stacked in two or more superimposed rows are held together by means of a packing member, e.g. a cardboard blank, which is formed with two or more rows of curved slits (16), Fig. 1 (not shown), through which the container rims protrude when the packing member is folded about the containers. The containers are inverted over a centre part 9 of the blank which is then folded up round them. The rim of the containers then underneath protrude through openings 18 formed by the slits (16), the rims of the second row protruding through further openings formed when tongues 19 cut in the blank are hinged inwards. Tongues 14 and slits 13 on the blank are then interlocked. The assembled package may have more than two containers in each row.
