Abstract

In a multifeed knitting-machine needles may be selected electromagnetically and raised to a predetermined height at any one of at least two points before each knitting station. Needles, or their associated jacks are urged upwards by springs, when a retaining member is deflected by an electromagnet as described in Specification 1,089,914. The jacks either raise the needles directly by means of cams or raise the needles into the path of lifting cams.
