Abstract

1,154,304. Knitting machines. EMIL MAYER [trading as MAYER & C1E]. 23 Jan., 1967 [28 Feb., 1966], No. 3306/67. Heading D1C. A pattern device for a circular machine comprises a series of electromagnets 15, 16 influencing associated armatures 1-6 which act directly on needle jack butts 9 to move the jacks 12 from the path of a lifting cam 14. The armatures, pivoted about their centres of gravity, are movable to operative positions by energisation of reagents 15 and the cam face b thereby brought into the range of butts 9, deflecting the jacks. Each group of adjacent jacks has one 'butt at the level of each armature, which are arranged one above another. Energisation of a magnet 16 e.g. 16/4 moves the cam face from the butt path permitting the jack to be raised by cam 14.
