Abstract
1,038,163. Valves. BERG AIRLECTRO PRODUCTS CO. Feb. 21, 1963 [July 2, 1962], No. 7040/63. Heading F2V. Communication between an inlet 19 and an outlet 20 is interrupted on loss of pressure in the outlet by a valve comprising a stepped piston 11 with a circumferential groove 32, or a passage entirely within the piston, for interconnecting the inlet and outlet when the piston is in its uppermost position to which it is urged upon the initial application of pressure at the inlet by the action of such pressure in an annular chamber 21a connected by a passage 26 with the inlet. Outlet pressure acts through a passage 27 on the bottom of the piston, and is opposed by inlet pressure which has restricted access through a passage 34 to a chamber 11a above and within the piston. The piston, which together with the housing may be of metal or plastic material and has sealing rings 37, 38, 39 and top and bottom projections 41, 40, may be reopened after cutting off the supply and draining of the chamber 11a, or it may be opened manually by a plunger in which case a valve may be provided for relieving pressure from the chamber 11a.
