Abstract
1,037,994. Transformers. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 10, 1963 [June 5, 1962], No. 21706/62. Heading H1T. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for cooling transformer oil comprises a duct 4 through which the oil is forced by an impeller 7, and a continuous length of tubing 11 within the duct through which cooling fluid is forced, the tubing forming axially spaced convolutions each with turns or layers which do not overlie adjacent turns or layers in the axial direction of the duct. In Fig. 2 (not shown) each convolution has four turns, a substantial part of each turn being located in a different axially extending quadrant. In Fig. 3 (not shown) each convolution has four layers, each of three loops, the loops of adjacent layers crossing at 90 degrees.
