Abstract

1,036,522. Plastics containers. MAUSER KOMM. GES. Feb. 7, 1963 [June 8, 1962] Sept. 13, 1962], No. 5058/63. Heading B8D. A stackable plastics container 1 is formed with an inward corrugation 22 in its side wall, Fig. 1 (not shown), immediately below a sheet metal closure 4 applied over an outwardly flared rim of the side wall which is subsequently forced downwards when a flange 5, 6 of the closure is seamed to the rim. The corrugation is designed to accommodate part of the rim of a similar adjacent container if the container becomes displaced, thereby preventing the adjacent rim from wearing through the container side wall below the seam.
