[Also in Division E1] A motor car head-lining assembly of foamed plastics such as polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane, and having one surface moulded to the internal shape of the car roof and the other, exposed, surface covered with a decorative layer of plastics material, fabric, or plastics-coated fabric, or with a coating of plastics material, is characterized by the provision of one or more slits or grooves extending wholly or partly through the foam material to enable the assembly to be folded for introduction through the car door or window. The moulded surface may also carry a surface layer or coating. The assembly may be made by introducing foamable plastics material between male and female moulds one or both of which may contain suction-moulded surface layers, the slit(s) or groove(s) being formed by providing in, or inserting into the mould complementary projections or plugs, or being formed by cutting after moulding. Any surface coating, provided alternatively to the surface layer, may be applied by conventional methods to the moulded article.
