Abstract

1,016,002. Liquid fuel burners. KARMA (NEW MALDEN) Ltd. April 25, 1962 [April 25, 1961], No. 14845/61. Heading F4T. In a liquid fuel burner of the perforated shell type having an annular fuel trough 1, 2 in which is disposed a kindler 5, the kindler is covered by portions of an annular member 6 which thereby restrict vaporization of fuel from the trough to predetermined and selected areas. The annular member may comprise a ring part which rests on an inner flange 3 of the trough provided with projections 7 which extend radially outwardly over the trough, or a ring part which rests on the outer flange 4 provided with projections which extend inwardly over the trough. Two annular members, one having inward projections, and the other outward projections, may be used together. In a third construction the annular member 7 may be formed by a wide ring adapted to overlie both the inner and outer flanges 3, 4 and having cut-outs arranged over the kindler. The areas of the exposed parts of the trough may be equal and the areas of the unexposed parts of the trough may be equal, and the total covered area may be equal to or different from the total uncovered area.
