1,015,575. Air-cushion vehicles. KARL TAGE NORDSTROM, and ROSA AURORA NORDSTON. Feb. 11, 1963 [Aug. 6, 1962; Oct. 11, 1962], No. 5401/63. Heading B7K. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for producing an air-cushion for vehicles comprises an annular air receptacle 1 divided by a wall 21 of varying height into two annular portions, the inner of which 19 has an annular outlet 20 and the outer of which 22 has a tangential air delivery pipe 2. The top part of the wall 21 is detachable and may be of various shapes. Figs. 3-5 (not shown), to ensure that the pressure throughout the inner channel 19 is equal. The outlet aperture 20 is formed between an adjusting ring 11 screw-threaded to the wall 3 of the air receptacle and a divergent flange 23 on the base of the air receptacle. Radial vanes 12 parallel to the axis of the apparatus are disposed in the inner channel 19. A partition 18 is disposed behind the air inlet 2 between the wall 21 and the outer wall of the receptacle and meets the wall 21 at a tangent in front of the inlet 2.
