Abstract

1,091,747. Cable joints and terminations. RUTGERSWERKE UND TEERVERWERTUNG A.G. Aug. 23, 1965 [Aug. 21, 1964], No. 36157/65. Heading H2E. A cable joint or termination is insulated by casting around it, in a cylindrical mould, an epoxy resin with an amino hardener, the mixture also incorporating a pre-heated coarsegrained filler, such as sand, which may either be added to the cold resin/hardener mixture before casting or be placed in the mould before the addition of the resin/hardener mixture. Suitable casting materials are suggested, and these may include plasticizers, and reactive diluents. The filler may be treated to promote adhesion.
