Abstract
1,081,176. Gas turbine plant. CLARKE, CHAPMAN AND CO. Ltd. July 28, 1965, No. 32179/65. Heading F1G. The invention relates to a gas turbine plant in which the turbine drives a fan or blower which circulates gas such as air through a heat exchanger whereby the air is heated being subsequently used for heating purposes. In the plant shown air supplied by the compressor 1 passes to a combustion chamber 3, the gases from which pass to a turbine 2 which drives the compressor 1. The turbine also drives a blower 5 which supplies air through a duct 9 a portion of the air passing through a heat exchanger 4 where it is heated by the exhaust gases discharging from the turbine. A portion of the air from duct 9 passes through a duct 7 to by-pass the heat exchanger, the heated and unheated streams of air subsequently re-joining so that the final air stream is at the temperature required for the heating purpose. The turbine 2 may also drive an electric generator 6.
