Abstract

1,075,214. Crank-case ventilating systems. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. Dec. 5, 1963, No. 39296/ 66. Divided out of 1,075,213. Heading F1B. The flow of gases from the crank-case through pipe 49 to an intake manifold through outlet 50 is controlled by a diaphragm operated valve 62 controlling ports 61 in the portion of the tube 50, which projects into the diaphragm chamber 53. The diaphragm is loaded by a spring 58 acting on a spring abutment 57 which is not secured to the diaphragm. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the valve is formed by the abutment 57 co-operating with the open end of tube 50.
