Abstract
1,070,578. Printing-apparatus. TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1963 [Nov. 27, 1962], No. 46437/63. Heading B6C. [Also in Division G2] An apparatus for printing from developed electrostatic images on a resinous endless belt 15 on to a plurality of webs 21 at printing stations 18, 22, 24 comprises at each station to aid the image transfer a conductive pressure roller 19, charged with a polarity opposite to that of the image, and a rubber insulating roller 20. A latent electrostatic image is formed on the belt by a device 16 and the image is developed by a magnetic .brushing &c. device 17. The station 24 prints from an image formed by developing the residual charge at a station 23 and the images on the webs 21 are fixed by heating devices 26. A device 25 discharges any charge remaining after the third printing. operation. The rollers 19, 22 at the second printing station apply a greater pressure than those at the station 18 and the rollers at all the stations may be replaced by flat plate pressure devices. A web which is not endless may be substituted for the belt 15 and the apparatus may be used to print on sheets.
