Abstract

1,060,310. Electric lift trucks. HANS STILL G.m.b.H. Jan. 12, 1966 [Jan. 16, 1965], No. 1544/66. Addition to 1,014,028. Heading B7H. In an industrial truck including a mast carrying vertically-displaceable forks and having batteries 8, 8<SP>1</SP> stowed on either side of a longitudinal well 7 as described in the parent Specification, the batteries 8 on one side are raised to accommodate an hydraulic cylinder 21 for tilting the mast and/or displacing the mast horizontally on guide-ways 20, 201. Vertical removal of the batteries 8<SP>1</SP> is facilitated by pivoting the steering column 13 to one side and displacing a hinged body portion 9 which supports an obliquely-disposed seat 1 and houses an hydraulic tank and pump. A switch is actuated automatically when a brake pedal is depressed to de-energize the truck motor but may be overridden by a pressbutton. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown), the guide-way 20<SP>1</SP> extends beneath the batteries 8<SP>1</SP>.
