Abstract

Thermal insulation system for the exteriors of buildings comprises panels comprising three sheets of expanded polystyrene glued together, the middle sheet (3) being smaller than the inner and outer sheets (2, 4) to form a peripheral rebate for receiving mounting ties. The outside of the outer sheet has a facing (7) of compressed brick or resin mortar reinforced with glass fiber mesh and the inner sheet has a coating reinforced with glass fiber mesh (5).

Description

It relates generally to the realization in situ of a thermal insulation by the outside and concerns as well the rehabilitation of the existing housing as the new construction.

Exterior thermal insulation of the facades has developed since the oil crisis of 1973 and the consequent need for energy savings, especially for domestic heating of homes. This technique is expected to develop due to the steady rise in energy costs, the scarcity of fossil fuels, the constant increase in summer and winter comfort needs of the population associated with their aging. It also combines thermal insulation and renovation during facade renovation operations.

Various processes have been implemented and mainly the thin coating systems on insulator. A decline of more than thirty years makes it possible today to evaluate their limits: 25 - Disorders appear and concern at the same time detachment of coating at the level of reinforcements in grid of glass, edges, connections with existing and reliefs as well as micro cracks or cracks, premature aging of the finish coating. - The significant formation of cryptogamic fouling on the finish coating. Formation in direct relation with the high porosity and permeability of the coatings used. - The low resistance to impact showing many perforations, especially in the collective housing. 10 15 20 -2- - The need for periodic maintenance every 5 or 10 years maximum. - The pegging through the insulating complex of all current processes has two major disadvantages: 1) Very low resistance to tearing of the "umbrella" dowels in PVC or similar. 2) Perforation of the insulation causing thermal leaks and weak spots by localized compression of the insulation. The question of the long-term durability of these processes remains entirely questionable.

The purpose of the system according to the present invention is to remedy this state of affairs by proposing a new method of external thermal insulation allowing: - a great simplicity of implementation and a reduction of the climatic risks thanks to a limitation of the number of phases of intervention on site; a safety on the quality of the product, a high resistance to cracking and impact and a very good mechanical stability, thanks to an optimal prefabrication in an industrial environment and to the creation of a double sandwich comprising 4 walls of collage of which two are reinforced: one facade side and the other side exterior; - High thermal performance through a careful adjustment edge to edge, the use of spacers or rabbets to prevent thermal breakage, a partitioning of insulation thicknesses to optimize the thermal resistance of the complex providing a multiplication of the inner and outer surface thermal resistances of the separating partitions of each insulating plate (sandwich effect); no perforation of the complex thanks to the associated fastener which is pegged directly on the facade; - maximum limitation of leaks or thermal bridges at the joints thanks to a very precise dimensional manufacturing. a limitation of cryptogamic fouling thanks to a rigid finishing support ("shield"). This process ensures the sustainability of the system and a limitation of maintenance. It allows a distribution of the implementation between teams of different qualifications and makes possible the installation by individuals.

The system is based on the use of precast composite and rigid insulation panels at the factory, applying on the façade by glue pads and each formed of three sheets of expanded polystyrene glued "sandwich", the outer and inner plates of identical format enclosing a median plate of slightly reduced size to create a peripheral rabbet for receiving assembly spacers, the face opposite the front of the outer plate being grooved and covered with an outer "shield" flat surface of compressed material which can be reinforced by a glass grid or fibers, the inner plate having a coating on the front side incorporating a glass grid frame.

In the accompanying drawings, given by way of non-limiting example of an embodiment in accordance with the present application: FIG. 1 represents a standard perspective perspective panel 20, FIG. 2 is a partial cross-section of an element of FIG. showing the junction of two panels, FIG. 3 is an exploded view on a different scale of the panel of FIG. 1, FIG. 4 shows an angle element formed by the assembly of a standard panel and FIG. 5 is an enlarged partial cross section of the corner element of FIG. 4, FIG. 6 is a partial view of the outer face of a ridged surface shield 30, FIG. 7 is a cross-section along arrows F1 in FIG. 6, FIGS. 8 and 9 show, respectively cross-sectional and front-sectional views, a plate which is fixed in the wall to receive the glue pads and FIG. 10 watch in perspective cavali the top and bottom of a wall equipped with a thermal insulation according to the invention.

The surface of the external plate 4 opposite to the front 6 is grooved and provided with a "shield" 7 with a flat outer face, of the high-strength brick type with compressed manufacture, or resin-filled mortar with a glass grid or fiber reinforcement reinforcement. Said shield has on the underside of the ribs 8 corresponding to the grooves 9 of the outer plate. In order to improve the adhesion of the finishing plaster and to allow the possible removal of the primer of the plaster, the flat and smooth external surface of the "shield" 7 may optionally comprise rectilinear ridges 10 crossed at 45 edges. of the panel, thus forming a grid of about 4 x 4 mm and a depth of 0.5 to 1 mm (Figures 5 and 6). Preferably, the plates 2, 3, 4 will be insulating quality from the outside and have a thickness of 20 mm, the shield 7 having a thickness of about 5 mm, which gives with the bonding layers a total thickness panels 1 close to 69 mm. Given the high thermal performance of the complex, it is not intended to produce panels of different thicknesses. A glass grid reinforcement may optionally be incorporated in the coating on the two internal bonding planes between the plates 2, 3, 4. The outer and inner plates will have a dimension of 500 × 500 mm, the median plate having a dimension of 480 x 480 mm, so as to create a peripheral rabbet for receiving insulating assembly spacers 11 of extruded polystyrene. These spacers make it possible to create a double rabbet at the connection of the panels with the effect of an extreme limitation of the thermal leaks at the level of the panel joints (FIG. 2).

The panels comprise two distinct fabrications of the same composition: standard panels 1 of 500 x 500 mm and corner panels 12 of 500 x 569 mm arranged to fit on one side of a standard panel 1 thanks to a groove provided along one of the edges of its inner face and receiving the spacer 11 assembly. These dimensions were determined based on safety criteria for the risk of cracking, as well as handling, scaffolding and unit weight of the panels. The corner panel 12 has, on one side of the panel, an included edge prefabricated with the panel. This edge is reinforced and finished. This panel allows the realization, without any additional intervention, of all the edges (vertical and horizontal) of the outgoing angles on exterior facades, and possibly on all the embrasures of the doors and windows, as well as the departure of insulation in the lower part to the place of the starting profile.

The panels 1, 12 will be applied to the facade by studs 13 of adhesive mortar, the connection and blocking of the panels being effected by thin joint type mortar with reinforcing fibers incorporated if necessary, the assembly being coated with a coating of finishing-type waterproofing 14 of any external insulation system (FIG. 2).

In case of insufficient adhesion of the glue pads 13 on the front support 6, it will be used metal plates 15 galvanized after forming and 130 mm in diameter. These plates are pierced with large holes 16 and pressed to produce circular corrugations to allow penetration of the adhesive mortar (Figures 7 and 8). The plates are pegged directly on the front 6 on the load-bearing wall (type of attachment to be adapted according to the support). The tear resistance of this device is equivalent to direct bonding on a perfectly adherent front support.

The thermal insulation of a facade 6 made by means of panels conforming to the process will advantageously be associated with the water rejection profile 17 10 at the top and the support profiles 18 and the water discharge at the bottom (FIG. 9).

Le positionnement des divers éléments constitutifs donne à l'objet de l'invention un maximum d'effets utiles qui n'avaient pas été, à ce jour, obtenus par des systèmes similaires.5  The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not been obtained, to date, by similar systems.
