Abstract

Filter for painting cabinets formed of a juxtaposition of chambers (8) with walls perforated to form chicanes for the blown air current. These chambers are formed using at least two perforated corrugated metal sheets (6, 7) with corrugations of constant wavelength. The upper or upstream sheet has corrugations with a height half that of the lower or downstream sheet. The sheets are positioned and/or assembled putting the little corrugations in the big ones to form a self-supporting structure.

Description

The present invention relates to a filter for paint booths.

In this area of paint booths, air filtration is carried out either wet or dry.

The wet system, for water curtain or water spray paint booths, requires significant investment for installation. In addition, water pollution control is very expensive for non-looped systems and, in general, this system requires significant maintenance.

The dry filtration system uses filters that are disposable. These filters, generally flexible, require a rigid structure for their installation. Changing these filters is a relatively long process. In addition, the cost of these filters is not negligible and their destruction can be a source of pollution.

The amount of dry matter retained by these filters is relatively large. The absence of recycling constitutes a significant shortfall.

The invention proposes a filtration technique for a paint booth, which makes it possible to remedy all of these drawbacks.

The present invention provides a filtration system using the principle of dry filtration by exploiting the phenomenon of particle separation by impact.

This shock separation phenomenon is used in particular in gas filters of the type described in document CH-A-359 961 and document EP0 394 622.

The invention relates to a regenerable and self-supporting filter, made of a material chosen so as to resist on the one hand to the various systems capable of being used to carry out its regeneration and, on the other hand, to the mechanical stresses generated by quick installation and removal operations.

According to a preferred arrangement of the invention, the filter consists of a juxtaposition of chambers, the walls of which include perforations so as to form baffles for the current of air drawn in; these chambers are of the self-supporting type, produced by means of two metal sheets folded in an accordion, having the same pitch, the upstream sheet metal comprising folds whose height is substantially equal to half that of the folds of the downstream sheet metal, which sheets are assembled together by placing the small folds in the large ones.

Still according to 1 invention, the angle at the top of the small folds is between 60 and 750 with a pitch between 30 and 45 mm.

According to another preferred arrangement of the invention, the sheets are associated with a stiffening frame so as to form a panel.

The invention also relates to a regenerable and self-supporting grating filter, made of a material chosen so as to resist on the one hand to the various systems capable of being used to carry out its regeneration and, on the other hand, to the stresses generated by its gratings function.

Still according to the invention, bars are welded transversely to the frame and / or stops the folds so as to form the grating.

This metal filter has the advantage of allowing the elimination of residues and dry products by burning in ovens, or by pickling in special baths. These residues and dry products can also be removed from the filter surfaces by vibration or scraping.

The residues can also be recovered and recycled according to their nature. In addition, these filters have the enormous advantage of being reusable after each cleaning.

Furthermore, these filters also have the advantage of avoiding large speed gradients inside the cabin, that is to say that they allow better air distribution and better circulation.

The invention will be further detailed with the aid of the following description and of the appended drawings given by way of indication and in which - FIG. 1 represents, schematically, in perspective, grating filters installed on the ground, in a paint booth - the Figure 2 shows a portion of the grating filter.

FIG. 1 represents a portion of the infrastructure 1 of a paint booth comprising a suction pit 2. The floor of this booth consists of grating filters 3 placed on the infrastructure 1. These grating filters 3 are provided under the form of rigid panels may include a frame 4. This frame can be provided with rods 5 of circular or square section, welded inside, to form a grating.

The filter itself, Figure 2, consists of metal sheets folded in accordion which constitute in themselves, a self-supporting structure.

The lower sheet 6 or downstream sheet, is folded in accordion; it has a height which is of the order of twice the upper sheet 7, or upstream sheet, itself folded in accordion with the same pitch.

These two sheets determine the chambers 8 in which the air which is sucked in from the paint booth circulates to the pit 2.

The sheet 6 has, on one of its faces, orifices 9 arranged at its upper part; the sheet 7 also has holes 10 located in the tip facing downwards.

These holes 9 and 10 are for example obtained by punching the sheet before folding. They are offset relative to each other in the longitudinal direction, to constitute a real baffle for the air flow. This baffle allows the air current to get rid of the heavier solid particles which are deposited on the walls of the chambers 8 and in particular on the internal walls of the sheet metal 6.

The folding pitch is between 30 and 45 mm.

The angle at the top of the small folds, that is to say the folds of the sheet 7 is between 60 and 750.

The height of the folds of the sheet 7 is of the order of half the height of the folds of the sheet 6.

The height of the folds of this sheet 6 is of the order of 55 to 60 mm.

The sheets 6 and 7 can be assembled together.

Ces barreaux 5 peuvent être soudés sur les plis de la tôle supérieure 7.They can also be assembled when the bars 5 which form the grating are put in place. These bars 5 can be welded to the folds of the upper sheet 7.
