Abstract

Device for packaging wine in the glass, allowing its preservation, its transport and its tasting. The invention relates to an obturator whose volume inserted into the glass drives out the air above the liquid and ensures the fluid-tightness of the assembly. It is constituted by a glass (1) into which the liquid (2) is poured up to a normal tasting level and into which the obturator (3) is inserted which, by its volume, drives the liquid up in order to eliminate the air from the container and thus allow the transport and preservation of the liquid. In order to ensure the fluid-tightness of the system, a lip (4) surrounds the edge of the glass (1). A tab (5) makes it possible to remove the cover (3). It is possible to add to this device a system of thermal gauges (6) in order to know the correct tasting temperature. The glass may also be filled in the inverted position by means of a valve (7). By creating a depression, the liquid rises and occupies all of the available space.

Description

The present invention relates to the packaging in individual doses, of alcoholic liquids, in the glass where they will be consumed.

Currently some establishments serve wine by the glass; these bottles of vintage wines must be uncorked most often for a single glass and then be stored in special conditions so as not to lose their qualities. Their purchase cost and the respect of the conditions necessary for their good conservation once opened, weigh heavily on the cost price of this service. The evolution of a certain type of consumption and society forces us to orient ourselves more and more towards individual conditioning. It is to meet this growing demand, among other things for catering in trains and planes, luxury trade and fast food that individual glass is ready to be tasted.

The new product which is the subject of the invention is illustrated by way of nonlimiting example on the boards appended to this patent.

Figure 1 shows the section of a glass provided with its lid according to the invention.

La figure 2 représente la coupe d'une opercule suivant un mode de réalisation de l'invention.FIG. 2 represents the section of a cover according to an embodiment of the invention.

La figure 3 représente la coupe d'un verre qui vient dêtre débouché, faisant ainsi apparaître le niveau conventionnel d'un verre de dégustation.FIG. 3 represents the section of a glass which has just been opened, thus showing the conventional level of a tasting glass.

La figure 4 représente un autre mode de réalisation où pour parfaire l'étanchéité du système, la lèvre (4) est positionnée sous le renflement du verre (1) et où l'opercule (3) est munie d'une valve de remplissage (7).FIG. 4 represents another embodiment where, to perfect the sealing of the system, the lip (4) is positioned under the bulge of the glass (1) and where the cover (3) is provided with a filling valve ( 7).

With reference to these drawings, the device consists of a glass (1) into which is poured a quality alcoholic liquid (2). The glass is blocked
hermetically using a shutter (3) of special shape, which occupies in the glass the volume originally occupied by the air above the liquid and which has a circular lip (4) fitting the edge of the glass or in another embodiment descending under the bulge thereof. In this way the liquid (2) is no longer in contact with the inner wall of the glass (1) and with the outer wall of the shutter (3). This one is molded in a food plastic material whose flexibility and shape allow it to absorb the differences in volume due to changes in temperature and altitude without the circular lip (4) letting the liquid pass. A thin metal variant is also possible. The shutter (3) has a tab (5) for molding intended to be pulled upwards, when the glass is to be opened, so as to tear or peel the glass lip (4) able to remove the shutter; the liquid level then returns to its original place.

The shutter can wear with profit on the internal bottom, which is separated from the liquid only by the thickness of the plastic or of the metal, small gauges (6) changing color with the temperature and thus being able to indicate if the temperature is correct for tasting. @@ can also be provided in the bottom of the shutter (3) a filling valve (7). This valve visible in Figure 4 can come from molding with the shutter (3). It is constituted in this embodiment by a capillary tube (8) going to the bottom of the glass and intended to remove the air in the system and to allow the liquid to fill the entire available volume through the orifice (9). After filling the two tubes are sealed. The filling is done with the glass inverted. The sealing of the tubes (8) & (9) is preferably carried out by hot crushing of the ends protruding inside the lid. Likewise, the cylindrical cavity of the shutter can accommodate a small towel, an advertisement, documentation relating to the liquid to be tasted, or, (and), a container in which is kept a food intended to enhance the liquid thus conditioned. According to a variant not illustrated, another type of shutter can be produced using thin metal foil and the seal is ensured either by a plastic seal or by a metal cap as is done for certain bottles, or by any other suitable method without departing from the scope of the invention. Any temperature gauges can in some cases be placed on the outside of the glass. The filling valve (7) can come from molding or be added without departing from the scope of the invention.
