Abstract
L'invention se rapporte au génie chimique. Elle concerne notamment un procédé pour la production de chlore et d'oxyde de fer dans un réacteur à lit fluidisé et à recyclage à étages multiples, selon lequel du chlorure ferrique est traité dans la phase vapeur avec un excès d'oxygène sous une pression supérieure à la pression atmosphérique et à une température comprise entre 550 et 800 degrés C en présence d'un catalyseur formé de chlorure de sodium et d'oxyde de fer, un combustible carboné est introduit dans le réacteur pour fournir de la chaleur supplémentaire, des particules de la matière du lit sont recyclées au réacteur et les effluents gazeux et solides sont séparés et recueillis en aval du réacteur, caractérisé en ce qu'on met en oeuvre le procédé dans des zones de réaction comprenant 1 une zone dense initiale et 2 une zone diluée aval ayant des rapports longueur/diamètre particuliers et en observant des conditions opératoires particulières. Utilisation pour la conversion de chlorures de fer en chlore et oxyde de fer.
