Abstract

A liquid is distributed by filling a chamber with a required volume and preventing further entry of liquid until it has been distributed. Spirits and other drinks are dispensed in this manner. A liquid dispenser has a measuring chamber (1) of transparent plastics material. There is an operating arm (3) which moves a microswitch (32) to control a motor (31) which drives a system of gears (33, 38) to turn a cam (34). This cam raises a tubular mechanism (2) which allows liquid to flow via orifices (21) to the outlet after the valve (20) has sealed the inlet. A control cam (35) operates another microswitch (37) to switch off the motor.
