Abstract

The crate is formed from a single sheet of plywood which is cut out to provide a bottom with a flap along each of its four edges. The outer edge of each flap is reinforced with lath (6). The sheet is formed up under heat, turning the flaps up through 90 deg. The ends of adjacent laths are fastened together (7) so the flaps form the four sides of the crate. Battens (9) may be secured in the corners of the sides. Holes (8) are provided at the bottom corners to facilitate stacking via the battens.
