Abstract

A catadioptric device has an optical objective which focuses the incident radiation on to a mirror from which almost all is returned through the objective in exactly the opposite direction as it arrived. The aperture of the optical field of reception may be adjusted and the mirror is semi-reflecting in order to transmit a fraction of the incident light. The device comprises a plano-convex lens (22) placed in the focal image plane (F1) of the objective (1). The plane face of the lens is reflecting and constitutes the mirror. A diaphragm (10) associated with the convex face of the lens controls the field aperture.
