Abstract

The stabilised-image night vision glasses comprise a Kepler system (1) of two convergent lenses on the same optical axis, a light intensifying disc (4) with microchannels placed in the common focal plane of the two lenses which recovers the images received between its photocell and light screen, a first plane mirror (5) integral with the rotor of a gyroscopic stabiliser (6) and a second plane mirror (7) in front of the objective lens (8) of the observation glasses. The image focus of the first convergent lens in the Kepler system coincides with the object focus of the second, the ratio between the focal distances of the two lenses being two. The first lens has a very high aperture, e.g. F/1.5 or F/1, to obtain a better efficiency of light intensification.
